Getting Ready for NaNoWriMo
October 24, 2008
What are you doing to get ready for NaNoWriMo? I’ve been scouting around the NaNoWriMo website, and people are doing lots of things to prepare for the November 1 kickoff. I’m open for suggestions.
These are just some of the things I’ve read that people are beginning to do:
- Buying additional ink cartridges, paper, and pens;
- Preparing family and friends for locked doors and hermit-like behavior;
- Foundation work on what they want to write about, like outlines and plotting;
- Establishing a daily word count you must reach, taking into account the Thanksgiving holidays and other occasions and meetings;
- Preparing doubles of food now and freezing leftovers for quick meals later.
I’ll be doing some of these things too. You experienced Wrimos, what else would you add to the list to help get us through the month?
